Elope or Have an Intimate Ceremony - I Love It!

You don’t want a traditional large wedding.  But, you want more than an impersonal courthouse ceremony. I love helping couples that want the simple ease of an elopement or intimate ceremony. Many more couples have crossed the threshold into marriage this way than in the past.

One couple I married had just bought their first home. They invited their family and friends to a “Housewarming” and surprised them by getting married! It was a day filled with joy and shared happiness.

Another couple from Kansas rented a beautiful home on the bluffs overlooking the ocean in Big Sur. They invited twenty close family members and friends to be in attendance. Coming down the stairs to the ceremony site they had placed signs – the last one read “S—t is about to get real”. Normally, I wouldn’t use language like this, but when I saw the sign I asked the groom if I could repeat it. He responded with a wink, “That’s why we hired you.” He was 100% comfortable. Their photographer wrote this kind review on my Google Business page, “I worked as an assistant to the photographer for a lovely wedding in Big Sur. Donna’s ceremony had me in tears! I did not even know the couple yet I was moved by the intimacy created. Donna’s gentle voice and heart centered words will help bond that couple for a lifetime.”

Just the two of us can be so romantic and personal. I’ve performed these ceremonies with feet in the sand, standing in the forest and in a hotel room with soft candlelight. I married a couple from Canada a couple who asked me to join them together two weeks prior from their date at Pebble Beach. It was just the two them, a photographer and myself. The bride told me that they had considered a large wedding, but when they really talked about doing this they wanted to share this moment just between the two of them. So much love was shared between the two of them the moment I pronounced them as husband and wife. All of our hearts were touched.
